I still remember the season in my life when everything felt like it was on hold. I had been praying—desperately—for something specific. I wanted a breakthrough in my career, a clearer path, some sort of open door. I had a plan in mind, a request in my prayers, and a timeline I hoped God would follow. But days turned into weeks, and weeks into months. Nothing seemed to happen.
It was during that waiting period that I stumbled upon Ephesians 3:20: “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine…” It was as if God was whispering, “I will give you more than you asked for. Be patient and trust Me.”
Looking back now, I realize how true that promise was. What eventually came my way wasn’t just an answer to my prayer—it was far greater. The job opportunity I received months later wasn’t the one I originally prayed for, but it ended up being the very thing that shaped my growth, stretched my faith, and opened doors I never knew existed.
That experience taught me that delay isn’t denial. Sometimes, God lets us wait—not because He’s withholding good from us, but because He’s preparing more than we imagined.
So if you’re in that waiting space right now, I encourage you: trust Him. He sees what we can’t. And when His timing unfolds, you’ll realize that what you received wasn’t just enough—it was immeasurably more.
Because that’s the kind of God He is.
